ANG MANILEÑA 2025

Two things I love about the Philippines are our very extra culture of celebration and the marine biodiversity here. I grew up deeply fascinated by animals but sea creatures always had a very special place in my heart. Every time I got to visit live beaches with family or friends, it's always so cool to see, even just from the shore, the waters teeming with all kinds of animals.

I'm pretty lucky to have been born in a country with such rich marine life that I thought that it needed to be celebrated through a literal celebration!

When we'd watch the morning news, for some reason, there's always some festival or celebration happening in some part of the Philippines – it's a feast of saint, it's commemorating the city. In this case I want to pay tribute to our seas by featuring the classic mascots of Philippine marine life and some weirder critters that also deserve some love.
